Tica is great. Have used before and will use again. The staff was helpful and the cabin was great. The only issue was it was a good haul to the raft outfitters. Overall had all we were looking for. Thanks
The picture doesn't do it justice. Plenty of room for all of us. We had a wonderful time!!We plan on doing it again next year. TICA has helped us for 3 years and we wouldn't use anyone else.
place was immaculate, furniture and amenities excellent. highly recommend. just beware a bit far from a store - so bring your groceries!
One chair outside on the main level deck was broken,otherthan that everything was just fantastic.
Only complaint - with the leaves off the trees, Aska Road is clearly visible (and heard) from the back porch/hot tub. Still, the road is far enough away that it didn't detract from our visit.

I was very pleased with the cabin. We all we enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on the deck and spent a great deal of time there. We also loved the bedrooms being on separate floors,each with a bath.The only thing missing was a T.v. in the main floor bedroom.
PAPA BEAR'S CABIN WAS GREAT. ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT IS WAS TOO FAR OUT FOR SHOPPING. BUT IT WAS PERFECT FOR TUBING!!! CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!!!! WE LIKED THE FURNITURE & THE LAYOUT OF THE HOME. THE CABIN WAS VERY CLEAN, THE HOT TUB WAS READY, AND THE POOL TABLE WAS JUST WHAT WE REQUESTED. HAD A WONDERFUL VACATION IN BLUE RIDGE!!!!!!
Some old high school friends and I met up (there were 6 of us) and we really enjoyed our stay at Papa Bear Cabin this summer. When I first walked in, it immidiately exceeded my expectations. The rooms were large and comfortable and had everything we needed. The cleanliness was very satisfactory. I didn't feel at all like I was in a mediocre hotel, but felt like I had arrived at someone's home who was expecting their guests. I will definately come back and stay with Tica Cabins again. I have a husband and 3 kids and I know they would enjoy it here as well. I'd also like to note, that we were considering staying at a cabin in not too far Gatlinburg, TN, however, we decided on this area. I have stayed at cabins in Gatlinburg before only to wonder why I paid so much for a cabin. With Tica Cabins, I truly felt like the money spent was well worth it. Hope to be back next summer!
It was a great cabin. Lots of room for 8 women who did a craft weekend. A nice big dining room table for crafts. We loved eating on the porch and enjoying the hot tub. I'd love to return!
We have used Tica Cabin Rentals for two summers in a row now and they always do a wonderful job. Their cabins are great...very clean and interesting. I love the Blue Ridge area. They made the check in and out time effortless and no hassles. Last summer we had a power outage on the day we arrived and we called the after hours number and a person actually called back within minutes. I will definitely use them again and again.
The cabin is beautiful, comfortable, and it allows for a nice relaxing stay. The cabins are always clean and I leave feeling pampered. The White Family
Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this cabin. It was peaceful and somewhat secluded but not too far from town or areas of interest. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, the outdoor hot tub and fireplace. The cabin was very clean and well equipped to handle our needs. The rental property staff was very friendly and helpful. We would have loved to stay longer and we would recommend to friends. The town area is kind of neat also, little shops and restaurants. Next time we will have to make time for the train ride. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Five fellows used Papa Bear's as base camp for a weekend of fishing, and it worked out great. Just close enough to what we needed, just far enough to feel fairly secluded.Only knocks: There were a few wood ant carcasses in the upstairs bedroom, and the Tica folks, while friendly and professional, wouldn't give directions to the cabin until the day of the rental, which made coordinating travel a little tricky.All in all, a terrific place at a reasonable price.
The cabin was great, I would like to say everything was great, however; the beds and bedding left alot to be desired. if you consider the cost of the rental you should expect at 4 to 5 star hotel costs you'd get that type of bed and bedding, not the case. The mattresses were old and so was the linen. Needs to be updated.
